STATEMENT.

4-H kids are smart, tenacious and passionate about world domination. However, people tend to see them as only white, rural and from a bygone era.

Meet the Pipers. Two sisters from Baltimore who found a passion in a place nobody expected. And a father who loves his daughters so much that he sacrifices in ways few would.

Our documentary weaved in moments of aesthetic and musical inspiration from spaghetti westerns as a nod to how these types of narratives have been exclusively centered on white figures in a way that rewrites history. Plus such genre riffs add a seasoning to the film, breathing life into a format that frankly can get a bit tired in the nonprofit storytelling space.

Well-told stories like this are what 4-H needs to shed the baggage attached to their brand and paint a new picture of what it means to be a 4-H kid.
