avatarLOUIS BEAUMONT SHINER is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He serves as the George S. Kenan professor of Political Science at Howard University, and is a frequent contributor to PBS. He writes the "Wait Just A Damned Minute" weekly feature on National Public Radio.

DICK SPENCER is an old-school newsman and memoirist who has been awarded nearly every prestigious honor within journalism, beginning with the Sidney Hillman Prize at the age of 23, in 1977.
