Announcing the Virtual and Augmented Reality Funk Laboratory

Funk Parade is back, and the 2017 theme is #FutureFunk, inspired by the landing of George Clinton’s Mothership in DC, Sun Ra Arkestra’s afro-futurist headline performance, and the power of our diverse and vibrant community to celebrate a positive Future for all. And we’re bringing the Funk Parade beyond reality!

The Future Funk Laboratory

ISL (iStrategyLabs), 641 S St NW
May 6, 12:00 – 7:00pm

As part of the expansive 2017 event, Funk Parade is hosting our first ever Future Funk Laboratory, to be located at the ISL offices, part of the former Wonderbread Factory.

Coordinated by BRINK, this will be an experiential showcase of the latest in creative digital DC, with producers from our art, tech, media and Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality (VR/AR) communities. Come learn and interact with Code For DC, Notion Theory’s Dodgewall, Virtual Cornhole, a collaborative Tilt Brush project with the DCVR Meetup Group and 360 video and film Content Gallery.

We will be collaborating with multiple partners throughout the day from Noon – 7pm, and are always looking for more participants and volunteers.  All content producers who wish to share VR/AR demos that highlight Funk Parade values, such as music, community, art and love, while incorporating this years #FutureFunk theme and brainstorming new innovations, please reach out to me @pajamma.
